There are several essential maintenance services you should get from your CDJR dealer to keep your vehicle in the best shape possible. From checking fuel levels to maintaining the tires properly, every single service we’re going to talk about will make sure your driving experience remains smooth and issue-free.

Oil Changes

As you drive your car, the quality of your motor oil worsens because it cycles through your engine. Driving with dirty, old oil can cause damage to various parts of your engine and cause it to break down. Make sure you visit your dealer for oil changes on a schedule recommended in your owner’s manual.

Tire Care

You need to take care of your tires so they continue to serve you well for many years to come. First and foremost, make sure they’re always inflated properly by checking the pressure in them each month. Have a little more air pumped into them if the pressure becomes too low. Make sure you also visit the dealer for a tire rotation as often as recommended. Generally, your tires should be rotated every six months.

Check your tread depth regularly, too. When your tread gets too low, replace your tires. You know your tread is too low if you insert a penny into the tread and can see Abraham Lincoln’s entire head above the tread.

Oil Level Checks

Motor oil isn’t the only fluid in the car that you need to keep topped-off. Check your other fluid levels, such as your coolant level, your brake fluid level, and your transmission fluid level. Having too little of any of these fluids in your car can lead to performance issues and strain the parts of your vehicle. Visit the dealership for top-ups as needed.

Air Filter Replacement

You should replace your air filter at least once a year, but you may need to do it more often if your dealer recommends it. Making sure the air filter is changed helps decrease your vehicle’s emissions, improve gas mileage, and keep the engine running well.

Brake Service

You should get brake service every 20,000 to 60,000 miles, and make sure you always get your braking system checked if your dealer thinks it’s necessary. The dealer needs to check your braking system to make sure it’s in good working condition. You also need to replace your brake fluid approximately every two years and get your brake pads replaced when they wear down.

Parts Replacements

Some parts of your car need to be replaced periodically. The spark plugs should be replaced approximately every 50,000 miles, and any other worn-out parts should be replaced during a tune-up.
