2021 dodge challenger

If you are like me you cannot look at a Dodge Challenger and not feel a little nostalgic. The name actually goes back to a low-end version of the Dodger Coronet back in 1959 but that’s not the one I remember. What I remember is the 1970 version that was equipped and priced to compete with the Mercury Cougar and Pontiac Firebird. The Challenger that came in Plum Crazy color and had a Hemi and a shaker hood. The Challenger simply over shadowed the Plymouth Barracuda which was the answer to the Mustang but flopped, big-time.  Not so the Challenger. This car actually lived up to its name.

This brings us up to today and the Challenger is still living large and in charge.  Since we are indulging in a look back at the tradition of the 60s and 70s pony cars, may I say that the 2021 Challenger is the best modern-day example? It is. It is really better than the original to be honest because it is a straight line drag racer.  There, it’s in the open and now you know what the Dodge Challenger is all about and that was what the muscle car era was all about too. The Challenger does not live in the past, the 2021 Challenger brings the past to life and makes it real.  I drove the 1970 Challenger and this new one is loads better.  There is no need to reminisce about the past and how it was in the good old days.  With a Challenger, these are the good old days.

Lots of things make the 2021 Dodge Challenger a great car to drive.  For one thing, it is more comfortable than its rivals. Bigger seats, more room inside and a usable trunk but still the fastest set of wheels out there if you want it to be.  A new 2021 Challenger is what you want to drive if you are going cross country or back and forth to work.  The sounds are absolutely thrilling but its manners are impeccable.

The Challenger comes with a base 305-hp V-6 and an eight-speed automatic.  Then there’s the Dodge Hemi 5.7-liter V-8 with 375-hp.  This one will keep you entertained.  If you want more there is the 6.4-liter V-8, which produces 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. We can stop right here but there is more, like the Challenger SRT Hellcat which makes up to 807 horsepower.  Suffice to say that the 2021 Challenger with a V8 is not for the timid but here is a fun fact. Back in the 70s it was women who loved the powerful beast with the Hemi and shaker hood.  Not that they were the primary buyer but women were a major buying influence.  The across-the-board appeal of the Dodge Challenger continues today.

Now is your chance to grab the good old days with both hands and ride into the future with a car you will never forget, the 2021 Dodge Challenger.  Come see us today.
